Kaitlyn’s love for sewing, fashion, and all things creative started at age 8 when her mother taught her to sew. After 10 years of entering sewing projects in 4-H and constructing several homecoming dresses, Kaitlyn decided to pursue her Bachelor’s at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in Fashion Design. She received several awards in local competitions: 'Best of Show' in the Fusion Fashion Biennial Student Runway Show, 'Best of Show' in the ‘Project Funway Runway Show’ , and 'Award of Distinction' in the Robert Hillestad Textile Gallery Biennial Student Exhibition. Her arts credits introduced her to a second love of floral design. After 2 years of working in alterations and receiving her Bachelor’s, she decided to further her career in an area more known for high-fashion: Dallas-Fort Worth.

 

Life in Dallas lead Kaitlyn to become the Atelier Manager at a well known luxury label who also specializes in custom bridal and evening wear. During this position, Kaitlyn managed every aspect of creating a custom dress: from consultation and sketches to the finished product; she was there every step of the way. She also managed a second job at a local florist, creating arrangements for everyday occasions and picked up event work as well. These experiences furthered her techniques and she gained a great length of knowledge about running a business.

After designing her own wedding gown, 8 other gowns for her bridal party, and the floral for the wedding, Kaitlyn wanted to share this design experience with clients on a personal level. In November 2019, Kaitlyn Coufal Couture was born. We strive for quality, excellence and attention to detail in all of our alterations and custom designs-bridal, evening wear, floral design, and beyond. We are located in the Weatherford-Azle area, but are also available for in-home luxury convenience.
